Deep Tissue Massage

60 minutes: $115
90 minutes: $150
120 minutes: $215

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Hot Stone Therapy

Hot Stone Massage is a soothing and relaxing form of massage therapy that involves the use of smooth, heated stones.  The hot stones are placed on specific points on your body and also held throughout your session as massage strokes are delivered. Trigger Point Therapy

60 minutes: $115
90 minutes: $150
120 minutes: $215

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Prenatal/Postpartum Massage

60 minutes: $105
90 minutes: $135

Prenatal Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women.  Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Postpartum Massage facilitates a quicker recovery and overall better health.  Relaxed muscles, increased circulation and lowered stress hormones are all results of massage therapy which encourages relaxation and stress relief.  All body systems appreciate treatment after nine months of change, culminating with the delivery of the greatest miracle in life.  Residual body aches from pregnancy are normal.  Adding breastfeeding and childcare can intensify arm, shoulder and back pain. Massage is an effective holistic approach that relaxes muscles and naturally relieves pain.

Massage also greatly improves postpartum hormone balance.  Studies indicate that massage reduces the stress hormone cortisol.  Massage also reduces naturally occurring biochemicals associated with depression (dopamine and serotonin) and cardiovascular problems (norepinephrine), supporting new mothers with the challenges of motherhood.

Massage therapy also relaxes the body, increases circulation and increases milk production.  Studies show that massage increases prolactin levels, a lactation hormone. Body fluids need to find balance after pregnancy, in which there was an increase of about 50% in fluid volume. Massage increases circulation and lymphatic drainage to facilitate elimination of excess fluids and waste products. Tissue stimulation assists your body to shift water to the right places. Swelling is also affected by hormones, which go through major changes after delivery. Massage helps hormone regulation, which also decreases swelling.

This form of intuitive massage does not involve deep manipulation of the muscle tissues, but rather focuses on:

  • Movement of the fascia
  • Increasing endorphin secretion to help relieve pain and stress and boost happiness
  • Correcting and increasing the flow of energy in the body
  • Stimulating and promoting blood flow and lymphatic circulation to enhance the immune system
  • Releasing toxins
  • Stress reduction
  • Bringing awareness to the individual
  • Increasing the flow of oxygen in the blood to help facilitate muscle recovery
  • Reducing muscle tension, fatigue, spasms and cramping

Intuitive Body Energy Work is very effective; however, it does not take the place of conventional medicine, but rather, works great as part of your integrated wellness plan.

About Reiki + FAQs

Reiki (also known as Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy or Universal Life Force Energy) is a Japanese-Tibetan form of energy healing that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body, supports mental clarity and helps heal physical, emotional and mental trauma.  As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health.  Rei is a Japanese word that means Universal Life/Higher Intelligence which permeates all living and non-living things and guides the inherent function of the Universe.  Ki (also known as qi or chi) means Energy/Life Force Energy and refers to the non-physical energy that flows through all living things, to include plants, animals and human beings.   During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy.  Reiki either utilizes a gentle laying on of hands or a completely hands-off approach working only within your aura, to conduct the necessary energy force between us.  My preferred method is hands-off as I've found that I get a better read of your energy centers this way.  The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress; to enhanced intuition, meditation and personal spiritual evolution; to alleviating chronic pain.  However it is not a miracle cure and It is not affiliated with any religion.  Reiki does not take the place of conventional medicine, but rather, works great as part of your integrated wellness plan.

What to Wear for Your Reiki Session

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing if possible.  Note that you will remain fully clothed during your session.

How Reiki Healing Feels

During my hand placements within your aura, you may experience a very slight tingling sensation, heat/cold in parts of the body, vibrations of energy flowing, or nothing at all.  The sensations or  a lack thereof  are not a barometer of the Reiki as each healee senses energy in their own unique way.  You may also feel a beautiful sense of peace, relaxation and calm, see vibrant colors, experience an emotional release, a tingling sensation, or sense that you are floating as stress, anxiety and fear are drawn out and dispelled.  Reiki is so relaxing that most healees may fall asleep during the session.  You will still receive all of the benefits of the session, sleeping or awake.  Some healees experience a deeper sleep the same night and a feeling of being more poised/less reactive, while others may experience vivid dreams.  It is different for each person, but deep relaxation is usually felt by all.  After your session you will be fully awake but much more grounded and centered.

Can I Talk During my Reiki Session?

No, the session is done without talking and with soft ambient music playing in the background to aid in your relaxation. If you want to communicate something to me during the session, such as if you are cold or too warm; would like for me to adjust the music; or if you are feeling a sensation you would like to discuss, then do speak up at any time during the session.  It is very important for me to ensure that you are having the best experience possible with this beautiful spiritual tool.  After the session, I will ask if there is anything you would like to share and you may do so at your option. This provides good feedback for me and also aids in planning your next session.  Please note that diagnosis is not a part of Reiki; however, I will recommend tools and practices that can be used to help you along your journey and to further promote your healing experience.

Reiki for Acute or Chronic Conditions

If you have a serious or life threatening acute condition you should seek out a licensed medical professional immediately.  If you have a chronic or current, non-emergency issue, Reiki can be an excellent complement to your total health or wellness plan.  If you have the flu or any other contagious disease, please wait until you are feeling better and not contagious before scheduling a session.  For the safety and health of other practitioners and clients, anyone who presents themselves in this condition will be asked to reschedule their appointment.

Is there a Such Thing as too much Reiki?

Not at all. Your energetic body is in control of how much Reiki it wants and needs during the session and utilizes it accordingly.  Reiki will go wherever it is needed in the body, and you will comfortably and organically receive only the amount of Reiki your physical body and energy centers need.

How Many Reiki Follow-Up Sessions will I Need?

Reiki has a cumulative effect, so even those who may not notice much change after the first session will have progressively deeper experiences as they continue.  Usually 4 to 6 Reiki sessions are enough to help with emotional issues, stress, anxiety and insomnia.  Physical issues may require more sessions.  Reiki provides long-term benefits, so lifelong sessions are not required; however most healees continue to book sessions on a monthly, quarterly or as-needed basis for: continued stress relief; removal of toxins; clearing of energetic blockages; energy balancing; pain reduction; and enhancing their body's natural ability to heal itself.

What to do After your Session

Be sure to drink plenty of water to hydrate your body as your body’s energy system may be moving at a more optimum rate.  Please also try to eat as many plant-based foods, especially leafy greens, as possible.  It is beneficial to spend some quiet time the same day to meditate, take a spiritual bath, and even write in your journal.   It is very possible that you may have some insights and further mental clarity as the Reiki continues to work throughout your body.
